ABA-Canada will be working closely with LTD Sports Outreach programs to help assist in the implementation of the LTD Sports Mission…, “Motivating youth to participate in physical activity while promoting the importance of teamwork and healthy living”.

LIL DRIBBLERS
Purpose The Active Start Stage (Ages 0-6) of the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model is commonly left up to parents to coordinate their children’s physical activity opportunities and instruction. Unfortunately, many parents do not have access to the resources and programs that can assist them in introducing their children to a socially active lifestyle. The goal of LIL DRIBBLERS is to use the sport of basketball as a gateway to introduce children to healthy living and social interaction through accessible community programs and activities.
Structure of the Program LTD Sports will host five(5) introductory basketball sessions, LIL DRIBBLERS, that will be FREE to the surrounding community. If there is enough interest from the community for additional programming, LTD Sports will help coordinate opportunities for families to access sports and activities within their region. A holistic approach towards physical and social development will be introduced within a team building environment and culture. The goal of the program is to encourage basic movements through basketball related activities and games while underlining the importance of teamwork and character development.
Coaches/Instructors Community basketball coaches from all levels will volunteer their time to assist with LIL DRIBBLERS. Additional volunteers will include teachers, parents and students who want to contribute their time to assist with the growth of the program as it moves forward. Each coach will receive training on the philosophy and focus of the LIL DRIBBLERS program and follow guidelines for each session.
